1777 SERVICES
SCOPE OF SERVICE
- The role of Connect Centre Pte Ltd as the 1777 Call Centre is to answer calls made to the ‘1777’ Non-Emergency Ambulance Hotline 24-hours daily including Public Holidays and to divert, monitor and manage the instant and advance bookings of Non-Emergency Ambulance Services to Private Ambulance Operators (PAOs) which are registered members of the ‘1777’ network and licensed under the Healthcare Services Act (HCSA) Regulations to provide Medical Transport Service (MTS) and/or Emergency Ambulance Service (EAS).
- Medical Transport Service (MTS) means a ground conveyance that is used or intended to be used for the transport of patient(s) who is being provided with non-emergency clinical or monitoring en-route.
- Emergency Ambulance Service (EAS) means a service to transport, by land, any individual suffering, or believed to be suffering, from an injury or condition or acute or sudden onset and of an emergency nature.
Key Roles of Non-Emergency Ambulance Services
- Typically, Non-Emergency Ambulance Services are for patients with a non-emergency medical condition which refers to a health issue that is not immediately life-threatening or does not require urgent medical attention. These conditions typically do not require immediate intervention in an emergency room but may still necessitate medical evaluation and treatment.
- Non-Emergency Ambulance Service also plays a crucial role in addressing the needs of patients who do not require immediate medical attention but face various barriers to reaching their medical appointments. This service is particularly beneficial for individuals who encounter challenges such as not possessing a valid driver’s license, lacking a
functional vehicle in their household, being unable to travel or wait for services alone, or having physical, cognitive, mental, or developmental limitations. By providing transportation solutions for these individuals, the Non-Emergency Ambulance Service helps ensure they can access necessary healthcare without further compromising their well-being or exacerbating their existing health conditions.
